Something for Every Child Artist
Learn the basics of clowning and interactive performance through improv games, clown exercises, and group performance. We focus these skills not only on performance but also use them to make new friends, collaborate, and create new games.
Since the medieval times of knights and queens jesters have relied on puppets. Kids will learn to build and animate objects through the magic of puppeteering. Throughout our camp we work on individual and collaborative puppets. Learning how to create basic and advanced shapes, paper maché, and the detailing and movement that bring them to life.
All the world's a stage especially if you're a clown! Kids will learn basic drama skills, and find their theatrical voice at camp. Through improv games, character creation, world building, and the making and performing of a spectacular one-of-a-kind showcase at the end of each week.
We work on collaborative projects throughout camp, encouraging kids to take creative risks and explore creative movement. Through puppet-making, music, dance, games, and performance we guide children to make creative choices with their campmates and create something they feel proud of.
We end every 2 week session with a show that parents and guardians are invited to. You'll see your child clowning, juggling, puppeteering, and performing in a low stakes and welcoming environment.
CLOWN CAMP is located at Mayday Space — 176 St Nicholas Ave, Brooklyn.

Mayday Space is both a neighborhood resource and a citywide destination for engaging programming, a home for radical ideas and debate, and a welcoming gathering place for people and movements to work, learn, celebrate and build together.
